Why Better Water Matters
Your family doesn't just drink your water. You live in it. You shower in it, cook with it, brush your teeth with it, wash clothes and bedding in it, give it to your pets, and make coffee and ice with it every day.
City water is treated before it reaches your home, but many homeowners still do not want disinfectants, hardness minerals, disinfection byproducts, VOCs, fluoride, heavy metals, microplastics, pharmaceutical residue, and other unwanted contaminants flowing through the water their family uses every day.
Better water is bigger than taste. It is about reducing what you do not want in the water touching your skin, your hair, your clothes, your fixtures, your appliances, your food, and your family. Better water makes a better home.

What Untreated City Water Often Shows Up As
- Scale on fixtures. Hardness minerals leave white buildup on faucets, showerheads, glass, sinks, and appliances. If you see scale on the outside, the same minerals are moving through the rest of the home.
- Spots and soap scum. Hard water leaves residue on shower glass, dishes, sinks, and fixtures and makes the home feel harder to keep clean.
- Dry skin and brittle hair. Hardness minerals can leave residue on skin and hair and make soap, shampoo, and conditioner work harder than they should.
- Laundry that works too hard. Hard water makes detergent fight minerals before it can clean fabric. Towels, clothes, and bedding can feel rough, stiff, or less clean.
- Bottled water dependence. Many families buy cases of bottled water because they do not feel good about drinking straight from the tap.
- Unwanted chemicals in daily water. City water is disinfected before it reaches your home, but many homeowners still want to reduce chlorine, chloramine, disinfection byproducts, VOCs, and other unwanted chemicals in the water they shower in, cook with, and use every day.
What Better Water Changes Throughout The Home
- Reduces unwanted chemicals. Whole-home catalytic carbon reduces chlorine, chloramine, disinfection byproducts, VOCs, pesticide/herbicide residues, and other organic compounds before the water moves through the home.
- Better skin and hair. Softened water reduces hardness minerals that can leave residue on skin and hair. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner work better when they are not fighting hard water.
- Better laundry. Softened water helps detergent work better, reducing mineral interference and supporting cleaner clothes, softer towels, and fresher bedding.
- Less scale and spotting. Reducing calcium and magnesium cuts down on scale buildup, hard-water spots, soap scum, and mineral residue around the home.
- Better drinking water. The RO system gives your family dedicated drinking water for cooking, coffee, ice, pets, baby formula, and filling bottles, without relying on cases of plastic water.
- More peace of mind. Whole-home filtration, softening, and dedicated RO drinking water working together.
How The System Works — 2 Systems, 3 Jobs
Your home does not have just one water concern. Our setup combines a whole-home system for filtration and softening with a dedicated RO system for drinking water.
Whole-Home System — Filtration + Softening
The main whole-home unit treats the water used throughout the house — showers, sinks, laundry, fixtures, and appliances. Built with catalytic carbon, premium 10% crosslinked softening resin, and a Clack WS1 control valve.
Job 1: Whole-Home Filtration
Reduces chlorine, chloramine, disinfection byproducts, VOCs, pesticide/herbicide residues, and other organic compounds commonly associated with city water.
- Reduces unwanted chemicals throughout the home
- Filters the water used in showers, sinks, and laundry
- Supports a cleaner water environment for everyday use
Job 2: Water Softening
Reduces hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium that cause scale, hard-water spots, soap scum, and mineral residue.
- Less scale buildup
- Better skin and hair
- Better soap and detergent performance
- Cleaner laundry
- Better protection for fixtures and appliances
Drinking Water System — Reverse Osmosis
The reverse osmosis system is installed at the kitchen sink and handles the water your family drinks and cooks with.
Job 3: Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water
Dedicated drinking water filtration for the water used for drinking, cooking, coffee, ice, pets, and filling bottles. Best for fluoride, lead, arsenic, heavy metals, nitrates, TDS, pharmaceutical residue, microplastics, and other drinking-water concerns.
- Better drinking water
- Less bottled water dependence
- Dedicated filtered water at the sink
- Better water for cooking, coffee, ice, and pets

About — Family-Owned South Florida
Simpler Water Co. is a family-owned South Florida company founded by Tyler Martin, built around one simple idea: buying a water system should not feel like getting sold.
Most water companies use free water tests, long in-home appointments, custom quotes, and commissioned sales presentations. We do it differently. We show the packages, pricing, components, and process upfront. Then we confirm your home setup with photos before installation — so you get a professionally installed system without the traditional sales process built into the price.
We are not trying to be the biggest water company in Florida. We are trying to be the one homeowners feel good about choosing.
Better water. Clear pricing. Local people.

Frequently Asked Questions
Pricing
- Why do your systems start at $2,990 installed?
- Because we use a simpler business model. We standardized strong city-water packages, show the pricing upfront, and avoid the traditional in-home sales process. That helps keep the installed price lower without hiding the cost behind a sales appointment.
- Is installation included?
- Yes. Professional installation is included with each package for standard installs. If something unusual comes up with your plumbing or install location, we confirm that before scheduling.
- Are there hidden fees?
- No hidden fees. We confirm your water type, install location, and setup before the installation so you know what to expect.
- Do I pay upfront?
- No. Payment is collected after installation is complete.
- Do you offer financing?
- No — we accept all major forms of payment, including credit cards, debit cards, and ACH. You don't pay until after the install is complete.
- Why are you less expensive than other quotes?
- We offer the same high-quality systems many other companies sell, but we've standardized our setup for South Florida city water and cut out the traditional in-home sales model. That lowers overhead and lets us pass the savings along to you.
- How does this compare to companies like Culligan or Puragain?
- The hardware is more similar than most people realize. The big difference is the sales model — those companies typically send a rep for an in-home pitch and build commissions into the price. We skip the pitch, publish our pricing, and install the system. Same category of equipment, thousands less.
Packages
- What is included with every package?
- Whole-home filtration, water softening, reverse osmosis drinking water, professional installation, and clear upfront pricing.
- What is the difference between Essential and XL?
- The Essential is a 10x54 mixed-media system. The XL is a larger 13x54 mixed-media system with more filtration and softening capacity.
- What is the difference between mixed media and dual tank?
- A mixed-media system combines catalytic carbon and softening resin in one tank. A dual-tank system separates the treatment stages into a dedicated catalytic carbon tank and a dedicated softener tank.
- Which package should I choose?
- Most standard homes can start with Essential or XL. Choose Performance or Ultimate if you want dedicated treatment stages, higher capacity, or the strongest setup available.
Water Quality
- What does the catalytic carbon do?
- Our systems use Indocarb Black Opal catalytic carbon. It is designed to reduce chlorine, chloramine, chemical taste and odor, THMs, VOCs, pesticides, herbicides, and other organic compounds commonly found in municipal water.
- What does the softening resin do?
- The softening resin reduces hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium. That helps reduce scale buildup, spots, soap scum, and hard-water issues throughout the home.
- What is 10% crosslinked resin?
- 10% crosslinked resin is a premium softening resin designed for better durability, especially in chlorinated municipal water. It is an upgrade over standard resin commonly used in many basic softeners.
- Will the system help with chlorine or chloramine smell?
- Yes. The catalytic carbon filtration is designed to reduce chlorine, chloramine, and chemical taste and odor from city water.
- Will the system help with hard water and scale?
- Yes. The softening resin is designed to reduce hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium, which helps limit scale buildup on fixtures, glass, plumbing, and appliances.
- Is this a salt-based softener?
- Yes. Our whole-home system uses traditional salt-based softening because it actually reduces hardness minerals and delivers the soft water feeling you expect.
- What about salt-free systems?
- Salt-free systems are usually conditioners, not true softeners. They may help with scale in some situations, but they do not create the same soft-water feel most homeowners expect from a real softener.
RO Drinking Water
- Is reverse osmosis included?
- Yes. Every package includes a Hydronix 5-stage reverse osmosis drinking water system with alkaline remineralization.
- Where does the RO system go?
- The RO system is typically installed under the kitchen sink and includes a dedicated drinking water faucet.
- What does the alkaline filter do?
- The alkaline filter is designed to remineralize the RO water after filtration.
- Can the RO connect to my refrigerator?
- In many homes, yes. It depends on the kitchen layout and existing refrigerator water line. We can confirm during setup.
Installation
- Where does the whole-home system go?
- Most systems are installed near the main water line, often outside the garage, near the side of the home, or in another suitable location. We confirm this with photos before scheduling.
- Can the system go in the garage?
- Sometimes, yes. It depends where the main water line enters the home and where the drain can be routed.
- How long does installation take?
- Most installs take about 4–6 hours depending on the setup. Our installer arrives on your scheduled day, sets up the whole-home system and the RO unit at the kitchen sink, leak-checks and pressure-tests everything, and walks you through how it works before leaving.
- Do I need a water test?
- For most city-water homes, the common issues are chlorine/chloramine, hardness, and drinking water quality. We usually start by confirming your water type and setup instead of making you sit through a water test sales pitch.
- Do you install on well water?
- The standard packages are designed for city water. Well water is different and may require testing and a custom setup.
- What areas do you serve?
- Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties. If you're not sure whether you're in our service area, send us your zip code and we'll confirm.
Maintenance
- What maintenance is required?
- Maintenance is simple. Add a few bags of salt every couple of months. Replace RO filters about once per year. After about 5 years, we recommend refreshing the whole-home media.
- How often do I add salt?
- It depends on household water usage and system settings. We show you how to monitor the brine tank after installation.
- How often do RO filters need replacement?
- RO filter replacement depends on usage and water conditions. Most homeowners replace filters periodically as part of normal maintenance.
